Introducing your candidate for the Weaver and Cuddington Ward

Robert Cernik has been selected at Labour’s candidate for the upcoming by-election in Weaver and Cuddington.

A former Councillor for Sandiway and Cuddington Parish, Rob is currently a councillor for Northwich Town Council, where he serves as Mayor of Northwich.

You’ll meet Rob on the campaign trail over the coming weeks. The election is set to take place on July 2.

“Weaver and Cuddington is my home, and it has been for almost four decades,” explained Rob.

“I have lived in the heart of our community in the Weaver Cuddington ward with my family since 1989, and I care deeply about protecting and improving the place we all call home.

“I have previously served for six years as a Councillor for Sandiway and Cuddington Parish. I’m a ward councillor for Northwich Town Council, where I currently have the honour of serving as Mayor of Northwich. From 2019 to 2023 I represented residents on Cheshire West and Chester Council, including serving as Cabinet Member for Children and Families where I had a special interest in helping children with special needs and their families.

“Throughout that time, I have worked hard to deliver for local people and to stand up for the interests of our communities.

“Weaver and Cuddington deserves a strong local voice and a councillor who knows the area, understands its challenges and is committed to its future. This community has given so much to my family and me, and I want nothing but the very best for the ward.

“I would be honoured to have your support in the forthcoming by-election.”
